Sune, I have not studied philosophy, and I'm not readily familiar with the terms structuralist," "functionalist," "ontology," "atomist conception," or "element conception."  I don't know what you're talking about, and I don't much care.
I find this: 'I don't know what you're talking about, and I don't much care' of yours to be a typical attitude by a number of the critics of Waldorf education and anthroposophy and 'defenders' of 'science' and 'scientific thinking', yet then arguing as if they knew what they were talking about on the basis of one or another 'quote', without having really tried to investigate, think about and understand the subject about which they have such passionate opinions, through at least somewhat neutral glasses.

From your comment, I see that you haven't bothered to read even the simple article on 'science' that my signature at the bottom of a number of hundred postings to this list over several years has pointed to. It's not very difficult and not in any sense an extensive treatment of the subject. Yet, it at least tries to sort out some of the problems concerning the roots of both 'anthroposophy' as well as 'natural science' in different parts of man's sense organism, making a number of aspects of their relation to one another somewhat understandable.

Or the 'All of this is, I'm sure, an oversimplification, and at first glance, appears to be a load of crap. But if you really dig into it, I'm sure you'll find that deep down, it really is a load of crap.' as you refer to it as your summary of anthroposophy when reentering the discussion.

[someone else] at least has put some energy into trying to understand what has puzzled her. I don't know what you have read before arguing with such lighthearted self confidence about the 'crap' at the bottom of it all. Clearly not much related to the complicated basic problems of understanding what 'knowledge' and 'science' is about.
